Sakura Matsuri 2013

at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden

April 28

This was another year where the air was practically tinted pink.
The blossoms were so lush!
There are significantly less people on Sunday.
Also, I went relatively early in the morning.
The first girl in kimono I saw.
Mom and child
This little girl was so cute!
The purple flowers that make me think of my stepfather every year.
A pretty pond.
Good morning, Hino-san.
Yellow tulips
I asked to take a picture with these kids, and the parents insisted I get in the picture with them!
One of the greenhouses.
They had a bonsai exhibit.
This tree was over 80 years old!
I should have photographed all of them with the labels, I don't remember what all of them are called anymore.
I was fascinated by how they're not only miniature trees, but more like miniature landscapes.
An indoor lily pond.
These little boys were so cute!
The day was definitely bright enough to warrant parasols.
The Japanese pond.
Every time I see the torii, I feel welcomed.
You rarely see guys dressing in yukata on their own, but these guys rocked it!
The waterfall.
A wide angle view of the waterfall.
Her makeup was beautiful!
I was starting to feel left out of the umbrella brigade.
I can't handle how adorable these two cuties were.
I asked a random guy to take a shot of me for posterity.
There was also an ikebana exhibit.
I've always thought my dad would have a knack for this.
This one was really elaborate.
There was a doll exhibit, too.
There were two women behind the table, hand-crafting the dolls while sitting there.
A sweet couple.
