A Nightmare On 34th Street

Earlier this week I filmed my first feature film role of the year for James Crow’s ‘A Nightmare On 34th Street’ and of course it’s a horror!

Vegan Life Live

It’s Veganuary, and Alexandra Palace was the venue for this years Vegan Life Live show.

I went along with my friend, mainly because I wanted to try one of Pomodoro E Basilico’s unicorn burger’s that they were debuting at the show – yes you heard correct, unicorn burger’s but don’t worry, everything at the show was fully vegan so no unicorns were harmed in the making!

The unicorn burger was a beetroot bun filled with a secret recipe, vegan unicorn Pattie, peach sauce, vegan chocolate sauce, peanut butter, avocado and banana chips, I have to say, it was pretty strange but nowhere near as horrendous as it could have been, it basically tasted more like a dessert than a burger, I was actually pleasantly surprised!

The show was great for ideas for anyone thinking about going vegan with lots of cookery demonstrations, and film screenings sponsored by retro corn and lots of different foods and products on sale.

A great day out and being vegan really isn’t as hard as some people may think.

I stocked up on tofu, chilli sauce, egg free mayo, some new Swiss designed peelers that spiralize and julienne as well as peel, I can’t wait to try them out and some organic vegan strawberry and rhubarb dog treats for my fur bitches!

Yoga

Yes, so I know I’m a little late jumping on the yoga bandwagon but I’ve decided to start 2017 by embarking on a new yoga journey.

I think I always put off going to classes before because I thought I wouldn’t be flexible enough but this year I bit the bullet and I’m loving it although at the moment my ‘flying pigeon’ is more like ‘pigeon that just fell out of the sky and crash landed’ but that’s Ok, I have faith that with practice I’ll get there.

I’ve made a pledge to myself to try and squeeze in one or two yoga classes per week along with a pilates class (depending on my work schedule) as well as my usual cardio and weights work outs and I’ve downloaded Yoga Studio’s app on my phone which is brilliant for daily workouts between classes.

I’ve also purchased Daily Greatness Yoga Journal to record my goals and progress.

Dolly seems to be loving my pink elephant yoga mat!

Burlesque

So one lazy afternoon somewhere on the middle of 2016 I was curled up on my sofa with the dogs watching the movie Burlesque, I’d seen it before numerous times but for some reason that afternoon I felt inspired to look online for burlesque classes, I’d done a few drop in classes in the past at Pineapple Studios but was looking for something more advanced and stumbled across an amazing deal with Burlesque Baby for their stage 1, six week course, before I’d really thought about it, I’d clicked the book now button and entered my payment details.

Six weeks flew by and once I’d finished stage 1, I’d been bitten by the glitter bug and soon booked up on the stage 2 and then stage 3 courses under the guidance or the amazing Peggy De Lune.

I graduated in December at Freedom in Soho with my first act, 2 Hearts (it was obviously always going to be a Kylie song) and have bookings already for the start of this year!

Coming up with a showgirl name was tricky, obviously you want something original, I tried Ruby Slippers but when I googled it, it was already taken so in the end I decided not to stray to far from my own name which I’ve used for both modelling and acting, keeps things simpler so Keep an eye out for Miss Dani Teeze!
