This outfit fulfills two purposes. One, I do want to do every outfit Rei wears in the artbooks at some point in my life. If I can do them in a group photoshoot, that's even better, so maybe this one will appear somewhere someday. And I wanted the wig because there are quite a few pictures of Rei with her "power" hair color. And I already had the dress, and since you don't see any more of it then you do in that picture above, it was certainly close enough.

The second reason was to help out a friend. When Soro mentioned she had a friend Leiko who was looking to make some money taking commissions, I figured this was a perfect chance to get some custom jewelry made. That way, I'd have the necklace and earrings set that I knew I'd never find anywhere else, and I'd get a taste of Leiko's skills in case I wanted to hire her for anything else later. (Which I did--Usagi Seion will be debuting Princess Serenity's full length staff at Otakon 2006.) Both the necklace and earrings came out beautifully, and I had a lot of fun trying to match this picture. (I still need a clear, lightest red wrap, though. Well, no rush.)
