Like the democratic board of broads that we are, the girls of Outer Power, Inner Beauty sat down and made lists of our favorite Sailor Moon outfits to choose amongst for our costumes for Otakon 2008. Basically, we're all pretty insane and want to do all of the artbook images at some point, but it makes sense to do our favorites as soon as possible--you never know what's going to come up in the future. And far and away, it turned out that the white dresses--which we ended up nicknaming "The Dreaming Dresses" based on Naoko's quote, above--were all of our favorite.

I meant to hire somebody else to make this for me--to give Avian a break, if nothing else, she ended up taking on way more commissions then she could handle for this convention--but due to a variety of outside influences, Avi was able to make this for me in the matter of a few days. It's definitely gorgeous--a hotel guest stopped me at the entrance and asked me if I was coming back from the prom.

Far and away the best part of this costume--other then the fact that we had a nearly fully group for it--was re-enacting the group pose. Normally we try to hold still for as long as possible, not sure where to look when there are 15 cameras going off at once, and going nearly blind from the flashes. Not this time! Granted the set-up took a while, between trying to arrange ourselves on the floor, and scattering the rose petals, and whatnot, but once we were in place, it was a breeze--lie on the floor with our eyes closed for half an hour? No problem!

That aside, it probably won't get worn again for a while. While it IS beautiful, it's virtually unrecognizable unless I'm with the whole group.
