A week after Otakon 2017 Avian Firefly and I got super organized about our "cosplay ALL THE SAILOR MOON THINGS" goal, and uploaded virtually every single artbook image to our Facebook group to see what, out of the group shots we hadn't done yet, appealed most to everyone. We ended up going with the final kimono shot (as you can see on its own page as well as my Otakon 2018 con report) and then kind of ended up gravitating towards fanart ever since, but I ended up searching for and buying a surprisingly exact pair of blue and white striped pants (with an attached tie and everything!) for my own use. So when the non-con of "Fauxtacon" happened in 2020, I again had a costume more or less ready to go, as I had a great shirt and red headband already. I just had to buy a bouquet of fake tulips, and I actually modded the earrings myself by buying two identical pairs of gold stars dangling in gold hoops, and then snipping the gold stars, gluing post earrings to the backs of them, and then snipping the hooks off of the intact earrings and gluing them to the gold stars. Again, I'd really like to get proper pictures in this someday (especially as I didn't get many pictures in this the day of, due to spilling Brasso on the pants and taking them off immediately so they wouldn't stain), or ideally a full newsprint group.
