I went through a pretty dark period in 2019 where I wanted to quit all of life entirely, and that included cosplay. I won't go into the thought processes behind all of this, but OPIB was there for me throughout all of it. Lady Terentia notified me when the Snow White Lolita dress that I wanted to match her dress was for sale, and I bought it because why worry about your financial future when you may not be here tomorrow? She and Avian Firefly had gotten me to come out for tea in Lolita a month prior, and we took a few pictures with our cell phones, but this would be the first time I'd be attempting to do a real shoot for my website and public consumption since my breakdown. It was terrifying, I'm not going to lie. And I did have bad spell that day. But friends like these meake it awfully difficult to hit rock bottom. And you know, if you can look pretty while supporting each other, then so much the better.
On a more pragmantic/less personal note, this was a lot of fun because it turned out that one of Avi's Lolita dresses had a Sleeping Beauty print, so she matched me and Teren perfectly. Dave loves shooting Loli girls and tea, so we decided to start the day with lunch at the King's Carriage House, and then walk the short distance to Central Park so we could take pictures there, especially by Alice's statue. Now we're just on the lookout for a Little Mermaid print Lolita dress for Aki Reinii, and we'll be all set.
