In January of 2012, Reinii and Avian Firefly announced privately to our group that they had decided to cosplay the manga-only human versions of Phobos and Deimos, the guardian crows of Sailor Mars, for Otakon that year. It had always been one of my long time, dearest held, least likely cosplay dreams to dress as Princess Mars with my very own Phobos and Deimos, and I didn't even have to ask them; they volunteered. I knew I had to do SOMETHING to try to match the incredible level of cosplay dedication they were showing, so I finally did something I had been toying with doing for at least half my life: I dyed my hair black. I just couldn't let my costume look half-assed next to them! Lady Terentia and Hime-chan joined us as Princess Mercury and Small Lady, and David Ng agreed to photograph what may have just been another photoshoot, but what will always feel like a gift of love to me.
