This one is ALLL Doc and OrochiSerge's fault. When Drachea Rannak's art of the Disney princesses and heroines imagined as Sailor Moon characters went viral, I had everyone from family members to sorority sisters posting them on my Facebook. Most just wanted to make sure I had seen them, since I love both Disney and Sailor Moon, but Doc posted Sailor Mulan to my wall with the caption: "So who would I have to maul to see you as this version of Mulan?" And that might not have been enough, although Lord knows I am almost pathetically eager to please. But then Serge followed it up with "I have been trying to convince Arlette to do that version of Rapunzel foooooreeeever" and, well, that sealed the deal. Arlette and I hadn't cosplayed together since 2007 (...yowza) and I would make any excuse to cosplay with her again. Lady Terentia, who loves Disney even more than I do, volunteered to be our Belle, and it just kind of snowballed from there.

Arlette volunteered to make mine for me, and she did just such an amazing job. The pink fabric she choose for the top has just the right amount of understated sheen, and I absolutely fell in love with the shimmery bows on the chest and back. She even made the medallion broach herself, and a pair of earrings for me even though she's literally never made jewelry before! The obi has a corset back so that I can adjust it if (and let's face it, when) my weight fluctuates in the future. I already had white thigh highs, and I just had to order a pair of flats from Amazon to complete the outfit. The wig is from Arda, and the only way it could be better is if the part was on the other side. Arlette also made me the flower for her hair, but I managed to lose it somewhere between my hotel room and the con.
