If I'm recalling correctly, this came about one day when I was redesigning BS&G to give my Ren Faire dresses their own section, and I realized that certain characters had been crossed multiple genres. Sailor Mars has a classic version (so...so many classic versions), a Steampunk version, a Ren Faire version, and even a Lolita version (I hadn't bought that dress with Rei in mind, but I wore it with other Senshi Lolita, so it counts.) Batgirl has a classic version and a Steampunk version. Snow White had a classic version, a Ren Faire version, *and* a Lolita version...why not do a steampunk version? It would be easy; nothing would have to be commissioned, and she's got a very iconic color scheme which makes her easy to recognize. I didn't even know when I'd get a chance to wear it, but hey, retail therapy, am I right?
Lady Terentia found me an *adorable* dark red bow with cogs which was *perfect* for Snow White on Etsy made by the seller SugarFlower. I bought the blue bodice from a vendor at the Pennsylvania Ren Faire; I feel bad but I can't remember which one. The shirt is by Scarlet Darkness and the skirt is by ThePirateDressing, and they both, plus a pair of also adorable apple earrings, are from Amazon. The wig is my old Snow White wig that I *finally* cut the attached red bow off of, and the boots are the ones I got for my Maki - Bokura wa Ima no Naka de costume. And when Steph and Patti and I were discussing easy costumes to wear to NDK, they realized they could fashion a Hunter(ess) and Evil Queen to match me. I don't think many people recognized us, but I for one was surprisingly comfortable, and I think we looked pretty darn good.
