The seller I bought my Black Widow costume from threw in a lot of extras, including two wigs just for fun: a long red curly wig, and a short black pageboy. Being a Sailor Moon fan, naturally I thought of Hotaru. And being a New Yorker, naturally I have an entire closet full of black. Luckily she has the same color eyes as Rei, so I had violet contacts in the house. I had nothing much to do one Friday night, so poof! Instant Hotaru.

I don't know if it's because I'm so used to seeing myself as Rei, or because I'm too old, or my face shape is wrong, or whatever, but I make a pretty cruddy Hotaru. I'll leave her to Avian. But it was fun for a change. And it never hurts to have a few characters in addition to your usual in your repertoire.
